MSHEIREB PROPERTIES’s first project, ‘Musheireb’, is a 35-hectare site which will transform the architectural centre of the capital city, recreating a way of living that is rooted in Qatari culture. This project will be recognised worldwide as defining a new architectural language for the 21st century.

A subsidiary of Qatar Foundation, MSHEIREB PROPERTIES was launched on March 3, 2009, and has since engaged with the community, the youth of Qatar, and world leaders in architecture and green building development.

The Musheireb project will be a shining example of Qatar’s determination to innovate not just for innovation’s sake, but with the end goal of improving the quality of life and ensuring that Qatar’s heritage and culture evolves as the country grows.

The project Musheireb was created to bridge the gap between the historic Doha of the past, and the leading, global metropolis it is today. This project maps what made Qatar’s traditional architecture and urban planning work well in the past, and applies what it has learned to for a sustainable and beneficial community of the future.

Musheireb will bridge the past and present, and will be, as Her Highness Sheikha Moza bint Nasser says, “A rising homeland that confidently embraces modernization and proudly observes tradition”.
